Round 4: New Faces on the Podium
Thunderhill West – Apr 19, 2025
For Round 4 of the 2025 campaign we had another big event, with 30 competitors joining the action. SpeedSF hosted us and provided another dedicated run group for 86 Challenge. The first couple sessions were cool enough for competitive times, leading to another broken record.
GT Radial Stock Class
In Stock class, Nico Iskos stepped up his bid for championship, with his first 1st place finish. He set a new Gen 2 Stock class record in the process, with a raw time of 1:27.739 (1:29.239 adjusted for the Gen 2 handicap). Ivan Larionov took P2, +0.351 from Nico, including a 0.2s GPS time penalty, due to some official timing hiccups in the first run group. Dennis Feng rounded out the podium with a P3, +0.629 off P1.
GT Radial Street Class
Another first time event winner, Brian Armstrong, took P1 in Street class, with a 1:27.575. That broke Timur Iskhodzhanov’s bid for a perfect season, after he started with victories in the first 3 events. Timur ended up P2, with just a +0.031s delta to first and a time of 1:27.606. He had the excuse of a new suspension and traffic, so expect him to roar back in the next round. Brian Kao visited the podium again, taking P3 with a 1:30.191.
Touring Class
In Touring, we welcomed yet another first-time winner, Keith Hnatiuk, to the top step of the podium, with a 1:26.929. Venkatraman Mushyam and Derek Xie took P2 and P3 respectively, each earning their first podium positions. Venkatraman set a 1:27.641 and Derek put down a 1:28.729.
Congrats to all for a great event and Thanks to our sponsors for their continued support:
