86 Challenge Round 2 Results

Laguna Seca – Mar 15, 2025

The RaceTreads.com 86 Challenge's 2025 season continued its exhilarating trajectory with record attendance of 36 drivers! Track conditions turned out to be perfect for PB’s, with a rain free and cool day during this particularly wet March. Shout out to SpeedSF.com for hosting us with a dedicated 86 only run group and an opportunity for a group shot on  the track.

GT Radial Stock Class

Dennis Feng demonstrated unwavering determination, clinching the top spot with a remarkable lap time of 1:46.089. This performance not only secured him first place but also set a new Gen. 2 record for the Stock Class at Laguna Seca, surpassing the previous benchmark set by Haowei Wu on November 26, 2023. Close on his heels, Ivan Larionov showcased the prowess of the Gen. 1 chassis, clocking in at 1:48.696 and securing second place. Saurabh Kulkarni rounded out the podium with a commendable 1:47.365 raw time (adjusted to 1:49.865 after accounting for Gen2 handicap).

GT Radial Street Class

The Street Class lead switched throughout the day, in the end Timur Iskhodzhanov emerged victorious, setting a blistering lap time of 1:44.894. Not far behind, Ross Heyman and Brian Armstrong secured second and third places with times of 1:45.158 and 1:45.931, respectively.

Touring Class

In the Touring Class, Will Lorne dominated with a stellar lap of 1:41.421, showcasing his mastery of the track. Thiago Pinto de Lima and Jason Jin engaged in a tight contest for the remaining podium spots, with de Lima edging out Jin by a narrow margin.

Unlimited Class

The Unlimited Class featured a standout performance by Jacky Jing, who recorded a lap time of 1:39.933, setting a new benchmark for the category. Qianli Xing followed with a 1:41.746, both drivers pushing the limits of their Gen2 machines.
