RaceTreads.com 86 Challenge: An Exciting New Chapter
We’re excited to announce our new title sponsor and partner for the 2025 season and beyond: RaceTreads.com (formerly TireStacks). This is a great development that promises further investment in 86 Challenge and our sister series 86 Cup.
RaceTreads is a tire distributor that focuses on enthusiast and motorsports customers and puts almost all of their marketing budget directly into motorsports programs, such as ours. RaceTreads already supports Formula Drift as their Official Tire Service Provider, so they have experience with the logistics involved in running motorsports series. They have a close relationship with GT Radial and will work in concert with GT Radial to supply tires for 86 Challenge competitors.
Next we’ll cover some of the incentives available for competitors.
Cash Prizes
Thanks to an agreement with RaceTreads and GT Radial, Cash Prizes will now expand across all classes (previously this was only available in Stock and Street classes). Cash Prizes are available for each class in the following amount, for a total cash value of up to $7,000.
1st place | $1,000 |
2nd place | $500 |
3rd place | $250 |
Competitors will need to run both GT Radial and RaceTreads logos to qualify for the program and must run GT Radial tires. For Touring and Unlimited classes, GT Radial SX2 RS are now available for competition.

GT Radial Tire Contingency
RaceTreads will also now operate the GT Radial Tire Contingency, which carries on at the same redemption rate as in previous years (10 points = 1 tire, maximum 8 tires earned per season).
Tire redemptions will be handled through RaceTreads, which promises a more expedient process. Shipping costs will also be completely covered by RaceTreads.
Just like for the Cash Prize, competitors will need to run GT Radial and RaceTreads logos to participate in the Tire Contingency Program. Decals will be provided at all events free of charge.

Purchasing Eligible Tires
In order to be eligible for Cash Prizes and the Tire Contingency, competitors must purchase tires through RaceTreads. However, a generous exception has been created to allow tires purchased before our first event of the 2025 season (2/15/2025) to qualify for the program. Please keep proof of purchase to prove that tires were purchased before this date. Exceptions for used tires purchased from other competitors will also qualify. Again, please keep any relevant documentation.
In the case of tire shortages (such as is now the case with 245mm SX2s), exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis by RaceTreads.
RaceTreads Racer Support Program
86 Challenge competitors are encouraged to join the Racer Support Program, which offers extra discounts, access to events, and an affiliate program. To join, fill out the form available here: https://racetreads.com/pages/racer-and-ambassador-program
Conclusion
We are very excited to welcome RaceTreads to our series and are thrilled at the enthusiasm for motorsports they bring. They have the logistical expertise and desire to take 86 Challenge to the next level. Representatives from RaceTreads are planning to attend at least one 86 Challenge/86 Cup event this year, so you’ll get to meet the team in person.
